Stated General Meeting

There are two Stated General Meetings of the Society each year – in May and December. These are chaired by the President and are normally held in the Minerva Suite in the RDS Main Building. All Members, with the exception of Honorary and Honorary Life Members and Corporate Members, may be present at, speak to and vote at the Stated General Meetings.

At the May meeting the Annual Report of the Council on the financial status of the Society and an outline of the work done during the year for the advancement of agriculture and the branches of industry, and for the advancement of science and arts is presented to the Members.

The main business of the December meeting is the declaration of the results of the Annual Election.

Members are encouraged to attend the Stated General Meetings as it provides them with the opportunity to learn about developments within the Society, to ask the President and the Chairman of the Board of Management questions about the Society's activities and to put forward ideas about its future.
