RDS Library & Archives
The RDS Library & Archives has been part of the RDS since its foundation in 1731 and has a specific interest in the RDS philanthropic work programme areas of Arts, Agriculture, Science, Industry and Equestrianism.
The RDS Library & Archives provides a lending service to RDS Members and houses the RDS Archival Collections, which are open to researchers by appointment. The RDS Library Speaker Series provides a forum for discussion of current topics in the humanities and sciences with free public talks presented by national and international speakers. The RDS Library & Archives holds events throughout the year, including exhibitions and conferences, that aim to highlight aspects of the RDS Archival Collections and promote historical research.
