Why do fans love the RDS? Because the excitement begins hours before the gig or match kicks off. Fans flood into the village of Ballsbridge from every corner of the city, filling pubs and restaurants to overflowing, mixing and mingling on the streets. By the time they get to the door of the RDS, they are a united tribe, ready to have the time of their lives.
The RDS has a long history of entertaining the people of Ireland as a host to a variety of live indoor/outdoor concerts including the Metropolis Music Festival, Peace Proms, FEIS Ceoil, the Guinness Choir and the Hibernian Orchestra. The RDS will welcome headliners Picture This and The Chainsmokers to the 'Summer in the City' concerts in the Main Arena in June 2018 and has welcomed some of the biggest names in rock, pop and classical music including Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli, Jay Z, Justin Bieber, Take That, Pink and Justin Timberlake - just a few names that have performed at the RDS.
“We’re a first for Ireland. A multi-stage, festival that happens in winter, so we’re not dependent on weather. The RDS is the perfect venue. Warehouse spaces for music. Stages for conversations. An incredible selection of high-quality food and drink experiences on site. Everything we need to keep our fans happy. Plus capacity for us to expand as we grow the brand.” — METROPOLIS FESTIVAL
